Gastric mucosal ablation (GMA) of the fundus using MOVIVA® is demonstrated by Dr. Rafael León. The hybrid ablation probe combines argon plasma coagulation with needle‑free high-pressure lifting. The MOVIVA® with ERBEJET® 2 creates a protective submucosal fluid cushion that protects deeper layers, and VIO® 3 moveAPD® mode enables rapid, uniform ablation of broad areas in the fundus. Each lifted mucosal segment is ablated while maintaining a 5‑mm safety rim around the currently elevated cushion. Sequential lifting and ablation continue until the marked area (fundus) is treated. MOVIVA® allows enhanced injection, especially in tangential position. GMA using MOVIVA® can reduce production of ghrelin, the body’s hunger hormone, supporting weight loss without major surgery.
