Mini-probe cryobiopsy of peripheral pulmonary nodules with different targeting approaches – General considerations

Watch generic considerations on peripheral sampling. Rationales for cryobiopsy technique are highlighted, including safety profile and advantages over competing modalities (eccentric positioning, molecular target testing). Furthermore, contra-indications are highlighted. Construction of a bronchoscopy suite with rationales for the equipment is performed. The set-up of an ERBECRYO® 2 using the 1.1mm flexible single-use cryoprobe is demonstrated, with special emphasis being placed on optimizing surrounding conditions for optimal freezing performance.
