The use of waterjet in laparoscopic liver surgery. Webcast by Prof. M.Efanov, Moscow, Russia

In his webcast,
Prof. Efanov discusses his experiences with laparoscopic liver resection and compares different transection modalities.

He and his team
combine energy powered clamp-crush technique in the subcapsular area with
tissue-selective parenchyma transection in closer proximity to tubular structures. Prof. Efanov emphasizes on the rationale and data on transection with the ERBEJET® 2.
He further presents comparative data to the ultraosonic aspiration technology which was evaluated in comparison to Erbejet®2 at Moscow Clinical Research Center.

Prof. Efanov concludes,
that the choice of the transection modality depends on the surgeon´s
preference. Special advantages of the ERBEJET® 2 in his opinion include its ease
of use and handling of the instrument. The costs per surgery are significantly lower as compared to an ultrasonic aspiration system.
